If you are searching for a delicious treat to take with you to your Thanksgiving dinner, but don't have much time to cook, then you have just found the perfect recipe. How do Oreo Truffles sound?
This recipe has ONLY 3 ingredients.
Directions:
First, crush the cookies. I put half the package of Oreo cookies (whole cookies, do not remove frosting) into a large Ziploc bag, grabbed my rolling pin and started crushing. This is very cathartic. If you are having a hard day, count this as free therapy. You want the crumbs to be fairly fine (some big chunks are okay). When they are ready, dump the crumbs into a medium bowl. The frosting will stick to the bag, but you can just turn it inside out and scrape it into the bowl with the cookie crumbs. Repeat with remaining half of cookies in package.
Once the cookies are all crushed, add the softened cream cheese to the bowl and mix well. I ended up using my hands. If you like practical jokes, this can also be a good time to go outside, stand in front of your garden and start licking your hands. When the cookies and cream cheese are mixed well (no large chunks of white in sight), put the mixture into the fridge for about 15 to 20 minutes.
While it is setting, find wax paper and line a cookie sheet or two. Now, remove the mixture from the fridge, and roll into one inch balls. This recipe makes about 3 to 4 dozen, depending on how big you roll the balls. Melt the chocolate flavored almond bark according to the directions and dip the balls in the "chocolate" until covered. I used two forks to make this easier. Place the covered truffles onto the wax paper and set in the fridge for at least one hour. Then place them in an air tight container and store in the fridge until use. Enjoy!
